Can anyone help with this Pilot I know he was in 2/JG26 and was Killed in Action, 1942 What I would like to know is did he have any victories I was told he may have had 4 but would like this confirmed. I know Tony Wood used to have a site but I dont know if it exists anymore.

Re: Oberleutnant Herbert Heck

According to our officer career database (http://www.ww2.dk/lwoffz.html) we have:

HECK, Herbert. 07.42 Oblt., in 2./JG 26 (to 30.07.42 †). 30.07.42 Oblt., 2./JG 26 KIA by Spitfires vic Verlinethun - Fw 190 A-2 (black 4).

Additionally, The Tom Kracker database (http://aircrewremembrancesociety.com...anPilotsH.html) says:

Heck, Herbert. - Oblt. (3/11/1909 in Barmstedt) 4 victories - 2./JG-26 (Channel)Fw 190A-2 Werk # 5303 "Black 4" (lost 7/30/42)Fighter Operational ClaspKIA 30 July, 1942 in aerial combat with a Spitfire of RAF No. 64 Sq. off Arques, near Verlinethun, and crashed near Samer, in his plane. Buried Bourdon Fr., 17/5/174 (Rosseels).

We hope that this helps.

Re: Oberleutnant Herbert Heck

Hi,
Lt. Herbert Heck received the EK II. 12.9.1941.
EK I. after the fourth air victory 25.10.1941.
All air victories were recorded at 4.(Eins.)/JFS 5. (Prien, Stemmer, Rodeike, Bock JFV 5 page 487)
Please, does anyone have a photo of this pilot?
Thank you, best regards Tony

Re: Oberleutnant Herbert Heck

Hi

"Logically",his kills (?) "must" be staggered between 28/08/41 and 20/09/41 and 15/10/41.

According to Prien, seven claims with no names between these dates.
