Hurricane crash-landed in southern Greece , 30th May 1941
Hello everybody!
I am reading the memoirs of german pilot Adolf Dickfeld (III./JG 52) and I am trying to figure out what happened at the 30th May 1941. In that day he mentioned that during a dogfight above Antikythera (south of Peloponesse) he had hit a Hurricane which crash-landed on beach at the southern tip of Peloponesse. A few minutes later , having been hit at the radiator , he also crash-landed at the same beach and noticed that the Hurricane pilot had abandonded his aircraft. He directed northwards by foot and after several hours he managed to reach the airfield Molaoi where his unit was stationed. As far as I know at that time the Hurricanes which flew at the greater area were those of 274 , 73 RAF squadrons and those of 1 SAAF squadron. Has anyone loss records of those units during the Battle of Crete? Thank you. Tasos |

Hi Tasos
In my book GLADIATOR ACE, I have this possibly credited to Bill Vale. Cheers Brian |
