G-14/AS 780793 loss

Hi gents,

I have two different losses for this one:
7./ JG 53 on 22/8/1944, 100%. (From Prien I think).
6./ JG 27 on 26/9/1944, no rate given in Arnhem. don't know the source.

Thanks for your expert comments.

Cheers, Franck.

Hello Franck,

Regarding your inquiry on Bf109G-14 780793, I have the following in my database file:

G-14/AS, 780793, 4+ - W, 7./II./JG 53, Uffz. Joachim Hübner, WIA/LK P-38, FSA, 44/08/22, SSW Achery, France, 100%, 53.

My source is a JG53 loss list.

6./ JG 27 on 26/9/1944, no rate given in Arnhem. don't know the source.

There are 3 G 14 Losses of II./JG 27 at the 27 Sept. 44 in the Arnheim Area
One are the 780 793 of Fhr. Horst Schneider - wounded

782 340 Fw Roland Haselbach POW and 780 944 Lt Alfred Belz +

Peglar,

These II./27 losses were on 26/9/1944.

Thanks,

John

Ps. cannot explain the 780793 either. I have the VLM for 6./27 on 26/9/44 and the number is clear...780793.

For both losses the NVMs give the 780793, in fact which other source could we hv for these losses ???

Re: G-14/AS 780793 loss

Thanks Guys,

I have the same pilot names and occurence. Note that LEMB StKz data page is giving White 4 for 6./JG 27 loss (?)
The same data source is giving 780793 as a Regensburg G-6/AS in production batch sheet ...
Whatever, it seems that the first hand source for all these losses listing are the NVMs as told by Rémi.
What we do now?; expecting another source? A typo? maybe ... but amazingly I did check the production batch just to see its position in the list ... Bingo, It's the last of that said batch. Two 780793? Is it possible?

Cheers, Franck.

Hi Franck

you must read the entry as follows

white 4 + - and other source D0079 with 6./JG 27 on 1944-09-26

D0079 is found on the source list in the LEMB list

Sorry for the confusion. But I noticed many conflicting data is around.
Therefore i attached the other source.

I think one of the sources has a typo on the W.Nr.

Kind regards

Re: G-14/AS 780793 loss

Not sure why we talk about white 4....the NVM says literally;

Bf 109 G-6/AS, WNr. 780793, gelbe 4, 6./JG 27, Raum Arnheim
Fhr. Horst Schneider, geb. 13.11.1924, EM 68416/689, vermisst.

As far as I can see now he is still listed as MIA.

Thanks,

John

Hello Peter & John,

This is the reason why it's a little bit confusing (extract from LEMB StKz data base). Peter is guilty - he knows - but not that much 'cause he did so huge work for long that he must be forgiven! ;)

In fact, as he wrote in his post upper we must read White 4 for 7./JG 53 source being B0469 and date of notice 22-8-1944.
For 6./JG 27 we have respectively D0079 and 26-9-1944.

Thanks anyway for your work Peter; I told you many times as you perfectly knows and until long-awaited-in-the-next-future-uptodate-publications it remains the (MY) main source of "inspiration"!

Thank you John for tha "Gelbe 4" indication, very useful. Note that Peglar is writing "Wounded".

My God! I cannot imagine how long it will takes if we have to check 35000 (around) numbers ... Life is so short! :D.

Cheers, Franck.
