Just wondering if there are still WW2 aircraft wrecks being found in the PTO, like this one?
I was watching this Documentary:
http://www.pacificwrecks.com/reviews/hunt-for-hero.html and found it quite touching and incredible that aircraft are still being found (at that time) on many of the islands. Some still in place as skeletons effectively in their last resting place (the aircraft I mean by that). I wonder are there any websites that detail current searches or are there any more stories like this that detail the finding of such remains? It just peaked my interest and the story about the hunt for Major William G. Benn and his crew who crashed the B-25C "Algernon" 41-12485 in the New Guinea jungle lost in bad weather and due to pilot error. Cheers, MP |
