Information concerning loss of Ltn. Rudolf Schick - Staffelkapitan of Jagdgeschwader - 26.11.1944

Can anyone provide details over the loss of Staffelkapitan Rudolf Schick?

What unit was he with and did he have any kills?

Can you tell me if he had any confirmed kills. Looking at one or two books he did not seem to get any with JG301 but yet he had a GErman Cross in Gold - strnage?

Depending on time, he went down to either 361st (~1200-1215) or 355th/2SF (~1215-1240). As far NE of Hannover/Misburg as he was it looks like it was a chase from Misburg area battle.

IIRC JG 301 didn't get into that fight until about 1235 coming in from east-northeast to hit 491st BG coming off Misburg. If this is true, he went down to either the 355th or 2SF.

Footnote - the 339th also hurt JG 301 but that fight began at 1245 south-southwest of Hannover and continued to Dummer Lake.

The DKiG was awarded on 29.3.1944 when he was a pilot and Lt with 5.(H)/AG 11. My guess would be an experienced old NCO pilot of a reconnaisance unit that later was promoted to officer (Kr.O) and maybe volunteered to RVT.
