Bf109 on eBay - Unclear or unknown emblem

Hi Gents,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Foto-Nacht-J...item43af6abb5b
The only proposition I have is JG 6. The unit using Bf109 and Fw190 ... But I don't know.
Any idea? Thanks.

BR, Franck.

Hi. The seller claims it has a NJG emblem but to me it rather looks like the 1./AufklGr.124 emblem, also described as AufklGr(F)124 with emblem #593 in Ketley & Rolfe [1998]. Peter at LEMB found this photo upon which I've commented on this LEMB thread. Possibly a Bf109G-4 of that unit and taken at Kirkenes or Alakurti.

Me too! I practice navigation on web.

Hello Goran, how are you?
I agree it's not one NJG. For AGr.(F) 124, sounds good in terms of ratio between width and height, I just don't see the Eagle wings on both sides of the shield.
OK! Thank you Goran.

Thanks Franck, I'm fine. The wings are there in the emblem but not easy to see at first. Checkout also post#1 on this thread http://wwiiairwaroverthenorth.yuku.c...ic/689/1-F-124 and you'll find that this unit in Nov 1943 had:

1.(F)/124
- 13 x Ju88D-1 at Kirkenes, det. in Alakurti as Kette Lappl
- 1 x Ju88D-5 at Kirkenes, det. in Alakurti as Kette Lappl.
- 4 x Ju88A at Kirkenes, det. in Alakurti as Kette Lappl.
- 2 x Bf109G-4 at Kirkenes, det. in Alakurti as Kette Lappl.
- 2 x Bf109G-4/R3 at Kirkenes, det. in Alakurti as Kette Lappl.

Looking closely at the Bf109 I see the camera opening feature under the fuselage. It is possible the Fw190 has a similar installation(?)

Aswell as the missing wings, I do not see the pointed bottom of the AufklGr124 emblem. Could this be NAGr2?

I have also found another excellent photo of a Bf109 from AufklGr124 and the emblem is located in a different position, although I accept that this is not conclusive proof against this possability.

Re: Bf109 on eBay - Unclear or unknown emblem

Hello again,

Goran, obviously there is a camera fairing under fuselage.
Ian, not bad, not bad;I cannot compare with the poor emblem drawing I have. BUT ... I understand the seller could have mixed NAGr. and NJG with a bad writing like NGr, for example in the album (it's not writen on picture's back)

By the way Ian, if you want to send me the complete picture you are showing us, I won't say no!.. :D.

Best regards, both of you.

Franck.
