GM-1 on DB 601 N engines

Hello,

To what extent was GM-1 fitted to DB 601 N engines? Was that standard equippment for that engine version or would it have been an add on?

No, GM-1 wasn't standard for machines equipped with DB 601N/P engines. It was used on the Bf 109 E-7/NZ (usually shortened to just /Z) and was planned to be used in the Bf 109 F-2/Z, both with 601N.
A couple of Do 215 and Bf 110 recons with DB 601P engines may have gotten GM-1 as well.

Hi Denniss,

At least one Do 215 was evaluated at Rechlin with GM-1 and I'm curious to know more about this feature on this specific aircraft type. An unknown number of Do215 received the DB 601 N engine and it would be interesting to know how many of these also received GM-1 equippment.
