Ofw Kurt Rose , 7./JG51

Hello,
I seek some infos on this pilot, Ofw. Kurt Rose , killed in May 1943 in the 7./JG51.
If someone have infos like erkennungsmarke or photos, it will be great.
Maybe he appeared in photos in certains books (Jagdfliegerverbande ?)
Thanks
Fred

Oberfeldwebel Eberhard Rose

Hello Fred

I looked at the loss list included in the Anders and Held book on JG 51 and an Oberfeldwebel Eberhard Rose is mentioned as having been killed on 31 May 1943 due to Überschlag bei Landung. Could this be the same fellow as Oberfeldwebel Kurt Rose and the date of 21 May 1943 is a typographical error? Perhaps Matti Salonen or Jim Perry could help out here? I also noticed that an Oberfeldwebel Eberhard Rose of 7./JG 52 is credited with a victory on 22 February 1943 as per Wood so perhaps he may have actually claimed two victories and not zero as per the Anders and Held book. Another detail included in this source is that he was born in 1914.

Horrido!

Re: Ofw Kurt Rose , 7./JG51

Helo Fredo,

this is from NVM:
Ofw Kurt Rose, born 19.01.1914, KIFA 31. May 1943 at Feldflugplatz Slowotzki (Pl.Q. 64771) in Fw 190 A-5 Werknummer 7355, white 4.

His a/c somersaulted after Feindflug when landing short of the airfield and hitting a ditch.
He was burried at "Heldenfriedhof Orlyat".

The NVM reports the date 31. May 1943 twice and was filed 2nd June 1943.

Carl, is there the erkennungsmarke in the NVM ? I would like verify if the Kurt Rose of the JG51 is the same Kurt Rose of the JG2. His ekm must be something like 53518/...
