Heinkel 111 loss 26.5.1944
 
Can anybody tell me more? Crashed at Sudetenland at some mountains... 5 mans died...

Only record I have on this date:

He 111D-1, 2453, Schultheiß, Gen.Ltn. Paul (F)/Dieter, Oblt. Fritz (B), Insp.d.Erziehungs-u.Bildungswesens d.Lw. (L.In.10), 26-May-44, Both killed in crash due to pilot error. 1 other killed, 2 injured. Aircraft from L.K.S. 1Lfl. Reich, BA-MA Signatur RL 2 III/779, p.80, bei Eisenstein

To pre-empt an often made error, WNr.2453 would be one of the fully glazed He111P’s with modified radio equipment and listed as He111D-1. These were not related to the earlier He111D of which only a sub-series was produced (from rebuilt He111B).
