Knife of an airman?

1 Attachment(s)
Hi All,

found this part of a knife in the area of the cockpit where a B-17 crashed.
Any idea if this knife belonged to an airman? Is it military? is it american product?
Thanks in advance

This knife serves to cut parachute's ropes and so. Moreover it had a float handle. Indeed this is a usual item for allied airmen.

Hi Guys, Attached pics of RAF dinghy survival knife, would have had a cork handle. Do you know which Boeing B-17 your knife came from?
