can someone locate APO 16296 ?

Hi all,

could you locate that USAAF post office? Probably near London in august 44, but more detail wouldbe great!

Thanks for help!

World War II APOs only went to 4-digits (http://www.7tharmddiv.org/docrep/Loc...01942-1947.pdf).

Hi,
Don't know if this help's but
APO 162 was Stoneleigh.

and also from the WW2APO list:

Ft Kobbe - Canal Zone - No 832 - 42
FST- 16 2 46

Just in case the "9" was a "4" ?

Then again this may be no use at all.

Re: can someone locate APO 16296 ?

Hey guys,

thanks for your answers; it seems my pilot had really written that 5 digits number 16296, and one text found on internet evocates an APO 16296...without localising it!

So it seems it really had existed!
