Identity of Bf110 sought! Nice photos
Hi Guys,
Couple of pics found on German eBay a while ago, can anyone identify this particular machine and its location? Thought they might interest some fellow members. Regards Melvin www.aircrewremembrancesociety.com |

That is Bf 110 C-1, 2N+IH of 1./ZG 1, shot down on 6th September 1939. Pilot Major Karl Hammes, the 43 year-old Staffelkapitän, was killed; his Bordfunker Ofw. Walter Steffen became a prisoner of the Poles but was later released. There are several photos of this crash site. Following the loss of Hammes, Oberleutnant Martin Lutz became Staka of 1./ZG 1.
