Revi 12D fiting
Greetings all,
I would like to know how exactly Revi 12D was fitted to instrument board of Bf 109E? Thank you :) |
Re: Revi 12D fiting
there was an aluminum or steel block that extended from the panel. It was either 3" long or 8" long or so. A contact plate was affixed to the end...and then the Revi was attached to the plate.

Re: Revi 12D fiting
Thank you :) I am wonder is there any close up images as well on rear side of the gun sight was box for additional gun sight glass and this box is so extended that I am not sure how this can reach steel or aluminum block.

Re: Revi 12D fiting
Hi,
There wasn't a box for additional glass...so I am confused what you mean? |
Re: Revi 12D fiting
Maybe this will help.
1. Dark colored glass - manually raised or lowerd by the pilot. Lowered in this picture. 2. Clear colored glass - always raised 3. Leather covered crash pad for pilots head. |
Re: Revi 12D fiting
Thank you Revi, nice image of sample preserved in Finland :) So rear glass was tinted, thank you for confirmation :)

Re: Revi 12D fitting
oh, you mean the sun shade...
When you wrote "box for extra glass" I did not know what you meant. Here is the mount and plate. The sunshaded glass is not in the way of anything. Below image shows the mounting plate attached to the front of the revi: http://www.me-109.com/STA52162.JPG 2nd image shows the plate attached to the mounting block. http://www.me-109.com/STA52205.JPG The revi was clipped onto this plate and can be easily removed.
