Information concerning loss of Leutnant Harald Tillmanns - Sturzkampfgeschwader - September 1942
 

Hi,

Can anyone provide details on the loss of Leutnant Harald Tillmanns who was a pilot with a Sturzkampfgeschwader who died on the 1/4 or 5th September 1942.

It seems he was lost while attacking tanks and was hsot down by flak.

He was an experienced flier with Iron Class First Class, golden flight badge and Goring's Ehrenpokal as awards.

Hi Melvin,

Not in the strictist sense. I have several photos of him and an A5 type sterbebild with no photo on it in an envelope with a black line around it.

The sterbebild details his awards, lists a wrong date of death (originally 5th September 1942) and tells how he was lost attacking tanks near the Ladoga Sea.

Am happy to scan for you but am going on hoilday for a week from today - so can you wait?
