Re: Ju88A lost 21.10.43 Med.Area.

Thanks ever so much Khorat and Matti, im very grateful.

This may be a long shot but im trying to establish whether this Hildebrand served with the Stabstaffel KG26 during the Polish Campaign. I have a Fw Hildebrand in my notes and im interested to confirm whether this is the same chap?

Best regs,
Steve.

Per Kaiser: "In 1938 he transferred to the HQ flight (StabSt.) of KG 26 at Luneburg. Hildebrand flew his first combat missions over Poland."

Thanks for that Jim, is this the very same Walter? do you have any further details from Kaiser on his career up until his loss 21.10.43.

Kindest regs,
Steve.

From Kaiser:

RK 06.04.1944 als Hauptmann nach dem tode
EP 24.08.1942 als Oberleutenant
DK 17.10.1943 als Oberleutenant

killed while attacking an Anglo-American convoy off Cape Tenes in He 111 H-11, Werk.Nr. 110363 1H+TL
last seen making a torpedo run

Hope that helps.

Hi Chuck, thank you for the information on Hildebrand's awards.

I was seeking to try and establish whether the Fw Hildebrand i have recorded in my notes was the same guy lost on the 21.10.43.
The Hildebrand i have, was originally with the Stabstaffel/KG26 and flew numerous sorties during the Polish Campaign of september 1939.

Likewise, im trying to find further info on the following men with the Stabstaffel/KG26 9.39.

Lt Jacobi, ( Is this Lt Hans-Joachim Jacobi Von Wangelin future RKT recipient?)
Lt v Vleuten, ( Could this be Hans Van Vleuten later with 5/(F)122 and WIA 19.9.40?)
Fw Fullgrabe, no further detail as yet.

Best regs,
Steve.
