92 Squadron in Italy

I have a couple of questions about claims made by this unit;

In December 1943 F/Sgt Bristow claimed one victory, can anyone provide me with the date and type of aircraft involved>

Secondly the date of the shared claim of a Me210 by P/O Stevenson and P/O Young.

Finally the six pilots (inc S/L Arthur) who claimed one Me410 on 14.10.44.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Ruxpin35

Flt Sgt F.E. Brister (not Bristow) claimed a FW190 on 30/11/43 (not in December). I assume this is your man?

I will see what I can do about your other queries.

Best
Brian

Thanks Brian, that sounds like the man. Do you know his nationality?
I just have a few gaps to fill in now!

Hi Ruxpin35

I have no reason to believe that he wasn't British.

Regarding the 'Me410' claim on 14/10/44 - this was actually a Ju188 from 6(F)/122. Those involved in it's demise apart from Sqn Ldr Arthur, were Flt Lt J.H.H. McKinnon, Flt Lt D.C. Dunn, Flg Off W.R.C. Bunting, Flg Off D.G. Crawford and Sgt D.O. Degerland.

Couldn't find a claim for a Me210 for Stevenson and Young, but Flg Off R.W. Henderson claimed a Me410 of 2(F)/122 on 8/1/44.

I didn't have this info to hand but a quick call to my friend Bruce Lander provided the above.

Cheers
Brian

Hi Ruxpin35

I have just noticed on another website that you were searching for details of a victory claimed by W/O Hayes of 254 Squadron - if you haven't already received the gen, it was a Ju52 on 14/5/44.

Cheers
Brian
