Research trip to Berlin - recommandations
Hi, guys.
I am planning for a research trip to Berlin later this autumn or sometime during the winter. Could anyone suggest a good hotel? My main concern is that I would need a stable and fast in-room internet connection - as I will be working from the room in the evenings - the hotel I stayed at the last time did not have the best of those. Regards, Andreas B |

Andreas,
I use HRS http://www.hrs.de/ where you can select your hotel and see whether they have WLAN etc. There are other search machines too. Obviously you can select the price too http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/images/icons/icon7.gif not to mention the location (next to the S or U-Bahn) Let me know if I can help further. Francis |

Re: Research trip to Berlin - recommandations
And I can recommend, not 1st class modern hotels but, two "Pensionen" with charm, style and history in central West Berlin that are affordable:
Hotel-Pension Bella http://www.pension-bella.de They have "W-LAN kostenlos" although I have never tried it. AND, at least a couple of years ago, the owner's father had been a Ju 52/3m pilot during the war... Hotel-Pension Waizenegger http://www.hotel-waizenegger.de No internet access, I think, but very nice. Lennart A |
Re: Research trip to Berlin - recommandations
Hi Lennart,
yes the Pensions you mentioned have a very cosy feeling when I take a look to their Internet presentation. Thanky you, I'm always interested in "secret" travel suggestions (hotels, restaurant) anywhere in the world. best wishes, FrankieS |
