Ju 86 crash
At eBay here is a series of photos of a recovered Ju 86. I believe this to be Ju 86G of Bordfunkerschule Halle PQ+AY which crashed near Ruhland on the 8th May 1941. Any other details would be appreciated.

Out of curiosity, what is your source for the loss of this machine? The SKZ does appear to be 'PQ+AY'.

Re: Ju 86 crash
The loss is recorded at http://www.stammkennzeichen.de/, no ref to the actual original loss record.

Re: Ju 86 crash
Gentlemen:
Having followed this thread for some days, I would offer an observation about the seeming obscurity of the mishap behind the photographs. It appears that there is no LwGQM 6. Sch. usw. report on the mishap behind the three photos, nicht wahr? Well, after study of the three images, it seems to me that damage to the machine was minimal—possibly at or below the "10 percent standard" usually applied to mishap reporting. The fuselage, at least, appears to be intact. Even the nose glazing is unbroken. Speaking tentatively, therefore, I'd venture that this aircraft was very possibly lightly damaged, dismantled, repaired, and flew again. Second, is that a unit or school emblem on the side of the nose? RA |
Re: Ju 86 crash
Hi Rabe
The emblem is that of Bordfunkerschule Halle. This aircraft is later recorded with BFS 2, so you could well be correct that in May 1941 it suffered only a minor accident and only needed to be dismantled to be taken by road for repair. Cheers Ian |
