Hartmann Bf109G-6 in Flight
Found this picture in a ilustrated WWII airwar book, had never seen it before. The tulips on the nose are very noticeable.

Re: Hartmann Bf109G-6 in Flight
Hi!
May not be Hartmann...I cannot remember which...but another unit used the tulip design on the nose as well... |
Re: Hartmann Bf109G-6 in Flight
The Tulip was used in Graf's unit (JG50) and JG52 as well the first Gruppe commanded by Hartmann's: I/JG53.
There were several planes spread among JG52 and I/JG53 with "Hartmann's" black tulip. These were definitely also used by other pilots, even after he was already in other units. |
Re: Hartmann Bf109G-6 in Flight
hi,
Graf used red tulip and the comrade of Hartmann, Birkner, used black tulip without spiral and with white color, i don´t know other pilots with tulip.. regards |
