Ju 88 collision 23 May 43 Baranowitsche
Hi All,
The QM reports a collision of two Ju 88 A-14 of 7./KG 2 on 23 May 1943 at the Baranowitsche airport. The W.Nr. are 4462 and 7433. They both do not make sense for the A-14. Anybody have any thoughts on this? In addition was 7./KG 2 really in Baranowitsche? Or is this another unit all together? Thanks for the help, Norbert |
Re: Ju 88 collision 23 May 43 Baranowitsche
I think possibly 7433 be typo for 4433, and unit be KG 1, but thats just speculation.

Re: Ju 88 collision 23 May 43 Baranowitsche
My "educated guess" is, although without any definite proof:
7433 - 144433 of 7./KG 1 4462 - 144462 of 7./KG 1 Matti |

Thanks Ed and Matti. I think your guess makes sense.

Hi
Seems logical. Checked all Luftflotte 6 losses (commanding unit handing in these loss record) for May, and K.G.1 seems the logical choice. Regards, Andreas B |

Hi Andreas,
thanks for the effort confirming that theory. Norbert |
