seeking information about Soviet Aviation Commander
 

Hi Guys,

On June 23 1941 a Long Range Bomber regiment from the I Bomber Aviation Corps bombed Koenigsberg. Does any one know which Regiment this was and who the Commander of the regiment was ? He went on to Command an Air Army but was shot down and captured by the Germans. After the war he did not return home but moved to the US and wrote under the name Major General Alexi Markoff. Any one know his real name ?
