If it's anywhere near as good as his previous book, "Two Roads to War: The French and British Air Arms from Versailles to Dunkirk", http://www.amazon.com/Two-Roads-War-...472397-2053022 then it will make for excellent reading.
Definitely on my list to get. |

While I am glad to see that the prolific Dr. Highham, who flew Mossies, Daks and Hornets in the Second World War and Malaya is still with us, I believe that this book, like the previous one, was done some years ago.

I just finished reading this book and recommend it. It is very dense with statistical analysis of the aerial battles of France and Britain.

Well, I guess it depends upon what the book is trying to accomplish. What does this book give that After The Battle's two tomes, The Battle of France and The Battle of Britain, do not give?

This book has a completely different format from the "After" books. The author uses statistics and analysis to calculate things such as availability rates and claims per sorties. The "After" books are absolutely brilliant, but this book has value as well.
