He 59 D-ARYX

Has anyone (probably Seaplanes!) got any information on this ac?

I have it as being associated with 3 SNSt with the possibility of WNr 1314. Beyond this, nothing.

Return as an "N" model from Bachmann on 1.aug. 40, nd then further to Stavanger on 20.aug.

1314 is not a solid number for the He59 Adam , 1814 ? 1514 ??

Re: He 59 D-ARYX

I have myself never found the tie up between D-ARYX and a valid He 59 Werk Nummer. 1314 was never a He 59 and neither was 1814. The only possibility is He 59D 1514 that received Stammkennzeichen DA+MN. This aircraft was delivered to Walther Bachmann Fluzeugbau in Ribnitz for conversion to Seenot He 59N on 30.01.1940 and remained there for a total of 218 days. Bachmann had contracts for 30 such conversions, but only 24 aircraft were converted, the remaining 6 were rusched to the Seenotflugkommandos during the summer of 1940 with only a provisional conversion. W.Nr. 1514 spent 214 days (= approx. 7 months) being given a major overhaul and full He 59N conversion. The transfer of D-ARYX from Bachmann to Seenotflugkommando 2 in List on 01.08.1940, could then match this time span. D-ARYX flew to Kiel on 10.08.1940 and returned to List 13.08.40.
On 12. and 13.08.1940, the Seenotflugkdo.2 List was transferred to Cherbourg, but it seems that D-ARYX remained in List and was handed over to Seenotflugkommando 5. This unit was ordered eatablished in List on 25.07.1940 and should also keep a deachment in Aalborg, Stavanger and Bergen. D-ARYX was transferred to Stavanger on 20.08.1940 and returned to List on 08.09.1940 together with D-AFFA.
However, the connection between W.Nr.1514/DA+MN and D-ARYX is just qualified guesswork, and I would appreciate if someone could establish the final link between D-ARYX and its W.Nr.

Re: He 59 D-ARYX

Sorry, slight typo, I meant 1514 as a possible Wnr. But as 'Seaplanes' mentioned the supposition is based entirely on guesswork.
