Feldpost Nr.L30309
 

Hello all,

In june 1944 a Uffz. Wenthers was involved in the recovery of the body of a US airman. The man gave his adres as Feldpost nr. L30309 Lg. Amstedam.

Does anyone know which unit is behind this number? I asume it was based at Schiphol, which is very close to Amsterdam.

here are some informations, I've found at a list of
German Feldpost numbers:

(Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur (E) Jürgenfelde,
dann Flieger-Kommandantur (E) Brüsterort,
(2.1.1940-27.4.1940) Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur (E) 33/I,
dann Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur (E) 9/I,
(8.9.1942-11.3.1943) Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur A 202/VI,
(23.4.1944-24.11.1944) 1.6.1944 Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur E 202/XI,
(25.11.1944-Kriegsende) 16.2.1945 gestrichen.

In june 1944 we have the Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur E 202 of Luftgau XI:

Formed 1.4.44 in Amsterdam-Schiphol from Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur
A 202/VI and sisbanded in february 1945.

Attached units:

- Platzkommando Bergen N.H.
[formed 1.4.44 from Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur E 28/VI, disbanded 9.44]
- Platzkommando Schellingwoude
[formed 1.4.44 from Flugplatzkommando A 24/VI, disbanded 9.44]

Service:

4.44 - 9.44 in Amsterdam-Schiphol (Holland)
with Platzkommando Bergen N.H. and Schellingwoude
9.44 - 2.45 in Fürstenau under Flughafen-Bereichs-Kommando 9/XI.
