Bomber Tyre?

2 Attachment(s)
Hello everybody,
the question I have is the following: I discovered a fragment of a tyre which could be from a crashed aircraft. As the supposed crash site is 98% of the time under water (and sand and mud) it is difficult to find possible parts. Could anyone identify the tyre segment? It looks like a 33 Inch.
Anyone able to link this to an aircraft undercarriage?
Thanks
Sealander

Re: Bomber Tyre?

The 33x5 size of tyre would be from an early 20th Century motorcar, WW2 aircraft tyres would have had a much thicker cross-section.

BlenheimBuff,
thanks for wakening me up. I think you are right.
Now I will be looking for a 1920 Cadillac or Packard instead.
regards
