Oblt Otto Edler Von Ballasko 9/KG1
Good morning, could anybody help with the crew of Oblt Von Ballasko said to be injured following ops 22/23.12.40. This was Ju88A-5 W.Nr 3222 of 9/KG1.
Im also seeking Oblt Kiunka's crew names and functions when captured 9.9.40 from 3/KG1 following ops over London in He111H-3 W.Nr 5713. Kindest regs, Steve. |

9 September 1940: 3./KG1 Heinkel He111H-3 (5713). Cooling system damaged and one engine disabled in attack by Sgt P. A. Burnell-Phillips of No.607 Squadron following bombing of airfield near London and belly-landed in Furze Field, Lodge Barn Farm, Sundridge, near Sevenoaks, 6.00 p.m. Believed also that attacked by P/O S. Zimprich of No.310 Squadron. FF Oberlt Erich Kiunka and BO Uffz Toni Stumbaum both captured unhurt, BF Uffz Erich Marks and BS Gefr Heinrich Reinecke both captured wounded, BM Oberfw Alfred Heidrich baled out and captured unhurt. Aircraft V4+BL 100% write-off.
