Rouen-Boos 20 June 1940
 

Hi guys

On 20 June 1940, Hurricanes and Blenheims attacked occupied Rouen-Boos airfield, claiming many aircraft destroyed and damaged on the ground. However, I can't find any details of Luftwaffe losses.

Any ideas?

III./ZG 26 lost 2 Bf 110 due to enemy bombing.

Yes, Blenheims from 15, 18 and 82 Squadrons raided R-B on 19 June.

yap 19th 9./ZG 26 reported 1 Bf 110 100% and 2 Bf 110 each 70 %

but you ask for the 220th ??

Yes, I am mainly concerned with the raid on 20 June, but RT asked if there had also been a raid on 19 June.

Hi Brian,

on 20.6.40 two Bf110`s from 8./ZG26 and one from 1./ZG1 all three 100% write offs.
On 19.6.40 two 100% - one from 9./ZG26, one from 6./ZG26, two 70% both from III./ZG26 and one 50% from 9./ZG26.

losses on ground

1 Plane 100 %
1 Plane half-burned
3 damaged
1 dead + many wounded 6 or 5

On 20th casualties 10 dead 15 wounded ..

Brian,

I wonder whether the photo page 27 of Zerstorer: Messerschmitt 110 and Its Units in 1940 by Vasco/Cornwell does not show airfield of Rouen with burnt wreck LW's aircraft.
