loss near Dinant May 1940?
Hello,
Here are some pieces found on the crashsite of a supposed Luftwaffe bomber, presumed lost in May '40. The location is situated between Waut-le-Wastia and Sommière (5 km NW of Dinant). Any witness as the area was vacated during the hard ground battles fought during the Meuse crossing. Some relevant parts are: - numerous 7,92mm cartridge (date 39'-'40) - an electric socket (for bomb fuzing?) : upper row, 1st from left - dial attachement (for a muti-engined aircraft?): upper row, 2nd from left. It should be one of those numerous LW bombers claimed in the large area of Dinant during May '40. I am sorry but details lack but not bits... Thanks beforehand. Best regards ClinA-78 |

Hi
Here is another pic of the electric socket (at left). It look like the plug relaying an ordnance to its (ETC?) rack. I know it is too early to draw a conclusion, but would it be a bomber crashsite? Any guess is welcome ClinA-78 |

Any Luftwaffe buff here ? :D
In order to reactivate the thread, new (and heavy) part found...without any stamps or numbers. Perhaps a connection between spar and fuselage but for which type? Best regards ClinA-78 |
