C47 "TOOIE"

I'm searching for the unit, the serial number and the individual call sign for C47 nicknamed "TOOIE" as to 1944.
Thanks for your help.
Phil

According to the standard reference ( Jennifer Gradige, The Douglas Dc-1/DC-2/DC-3, the First Seventy Years, v. 2 2006: Tonbridge, Air Britain, pp. 608-09)

Construrction number 16468/33216 was built as 44-76884, a TC-47B-35-DK.

Delivered May 1945
Becomes US Navy R4D-7, Clinton, 15 May 1945 as BuAer 99838
NANS Clinton July 1945
VRS-1 January 1946
ATU VPB-23 April 1946
Jacksonville June 1946
VMU Jacksonville January 1947
A&T Quonset Point July 1947
El Toro as R4D-6R August 1948
Anacostia 8 August 1951
NrtTrsPool Glenview 7 January 1954
NARTU Anacostia 1 September 1955
After that, withdrawn in 56, civvy street in 57, becomes N2312G in 76.

As a stateside R4D, would probably have been in standard USAAF OD/dark green overspray uppers/neutral grey undersurfaces, with the BuAer number small or not there on the fin but its last 2 or 3 numbers in large white numerals as an identifier.

The name and 45938 number appear from this source to date to its 93-04 incarnation outside a restaraunt.

How a plane delivered in May 1945 (15 May exactly) could be involved in D-day invasion!!
