Oberleutnant Hans Fiedler Adjutant III./JG11
 

I can find very little concerning Oberleutnant Hans Fiedler Adjutant III./Jagdgeschwader 11, shot down by flak and captured during Unternehmen Bodenplatte.

According to the Ordenstrager there is a possible Ehrenpokal recipient:

Fiedler
Hans
Feldwebel
Flugzeugführer
15.02.43

However I am unsure if this is the same man?

Also, I cannot see any claims submitted to the RLM at all.

Can anyone provide any information at all on this man? I will be very grateful indeed for any help whatsoever.

Maybe this man was a recipient of the Ehrenpokal:
1943-01-26, 8./St.G 1, Ju 87D-1, 210321, J9+FK, Fl.Pl. Isotscha, Jägerbeschuß. Bruch ? %.
Flugzeugführer Fw Fiedler, Hans, verletzt

He is not the same as Olt Hans Fiedler, who was 8 years older.

Hi Richard,

Your Hans Fiedler had previously served in the Mediterranean theatre with the I. Gruppe of Schlachtgeschwader 2. He is mentioned on pages 76 and 83 of Morten and my book Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in the Battle for Sicily, and several times in the Manrho and Pütz book Bodenplatte.

It has certainly ruled Oblt. Hans Fiedler out for the Ehrenpokal entry in the Ordenstrager!

I have the excellent 'Bodenplatte' book and that is where I have gleaned the small amount of information I have from. I think I will have to now invest in a copy of 'Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in the Battle for Sicily'.

Oblt Hans Fiedler joined the Luftwaffe in 1938 and went to the Kriegsschule. I do not believe he is the same guy as the Ehrenpokal recipient.
