What, Jukka? You do not think 1044 is enough? ;)

As publisher and commissioning editor, Fonthill are very pleased to announce a very special book launch this Saturday at The RAF Club in Piccadilly, London, where author Steve Brew will be in attendance with five veteran fighter pilots and many guests.

If you should have an idea for a book, why not drop me a line?

Ordered mine yesterday, although for my budget it's a bit expensive. Hope to have it just after New Year.

Jay,
Why does the book start in August 1942, rather than September 1939? Is there going to be a second volume covering the first half of the war?

Enjoy!

Frank.

Dear Frank,

You will be pleased to learn that Steve has been contracted to work on a second volume as well as another Second World War RAF book.

Keep your eye on Fonthill. We plan and will grow!

I'm sure it's a nice book, bit too pricey for my wallet these days. Also why not include Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain, not to mention all of 1941 in a history of 41 Sq?

Dear Jay
When can we expect the second volume of the No 41 Sqn History?

Re: Blood, Sweat and Valour/Steve Brew

Hi guys

Thanks very much

It became necessary to split the book in two due to size - the volume I'm about to launch is alone over 1000 pages!

The next volume will cover Sep 1939-Jul 1942, and will include Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain, amongst other things. I am planning to be able to release it in two years' time, aiming for December 2014. It is currently well underway.

The current book includes lists of all known serials and matching codes of 41 Squadron's Spitfire XIIs and XIVs, and a full index of all 41 Sqn Combat Reports held in the National Archives. It also includes lists of OCs, Flight Commanders, key ground staff, casualties, POWs, aerial victories, ground victories, decorations, surviving combat films, aircraft in service, and base locations. This is aside from a chronological account of the Squadron's activity between Aug 1942 and May 1945.

Thanks for buying the book; I hope you enjoy it. It can currently be purchased online from Fonthill's website (www.fonthillmedia.com) at a 10% discount.

Regards
Steve
