Re: Me 262 photo + Fw 190's +
If this Fw 190 in Austria was photographed at the same time and place as the Me 262, i.e. at Innsbruck-Hötting, then there's a good chance it's E8+CB of Stab/NSG 9 (flown at least once by Ltn. Willy Ferling).
If it is from Innsbruck, it's the only Fw 190 shot so far in which a marking is visible. |
Re: Me 262 photo + Fw 190's +
I would set the location for photo # 1 at Innsbruck-Hötting looking southeast. The jet being parked almost parallel to the poplar alley. Seems to be WNr 500490 (jet intakes natural metal, upper jet cover partially aluminum, too)
Interesting is the plane in the background (Noorduyn Norseman?). Must belong to the group of "bi-planes" appearing on some photographs partly hidden by WNr 500490 in the foreground and E8+GL half-hidden in the barn. # 2 is from Hötting, too, imo, looking soutwest across the Inn towards St.Blasienberg (behind the barn). The Fw 190 placed in front of a different barn than E8+GL. Maybe the barn in the background of Nick Beale´s NSG 9 opus p.182 top, right. Regards Roland |
