Fw 200 WNr 0217 crash, 11 July 1943
I have two sources agreeing that the Fw 200 C-5 WNr 0217 of 3./KG 40 was wrecked (95% damage) on 11 July 1943 during a take-off accident from Vaernes airfield, Norway. But they disagree on the crew fate.
One says that all seven men aboard were killed, including the pilot, Fw. Willi Trautemansberger. The other says that the pilot, Fw. Willi Trautemansberger, was wounded and there was no other casualty. Can someone tell me the casualties suffered during this accident ? Thanks in advance Laurent |

I have it crash landing at Drontheim & burnt out with Trautmannsberger & crew safe?

Thanks Chris
By the way Vaernes airfield is close to Trondheim (and is now the international airport serving this city), that is called sometimes Drontheim by Germans, so it is the same place. Best regards, and best wishes for 2013 Laurent |
