FW190 Details
Does anyone know of a publication that shows clearly the interior of the main wheel wells of the FW190 V1. I need to see how and where the main undercarriage retraction jacks were attached and if there were dimpled skins above the wheel area, otherwise I will have to make an educated guess that it was similar to the later models. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Kindest regards, Don. |

Don,
On page 42 of "Luftwaffe Combat Aircraft- Griehl \ Dressel there is a picture of the v1 in final assembly. Maybe someone has a clearer copy of this photo as it might have what you seek. You might drop in your local book store and look at a copy of the Osprey book "Prduction Line to Front Line" I think it has some plans andclear pictures. Good Luck |
Re: FW190 Details
You are smart to check that item on the Fw 190A-1 because the u/c actuation is different than that of the later Fw190s. The main electrical motor, instead of directly moving the actuation scissors unit, moves a secondary circular unit that moves the scissors unit. This also makes the sucker a bit more complicated than that on the later a/c.
