Seeking information Donald Riesman . . .
Seeking information regarding Luftwaffe airman Donald Riesman, rank unknown, died in a crash in Vilna, Poland, late in 1939 or early in 1940. He flew in a squadron whose slogan was the "Eyes of Germany".

Re: Seeking information Donald Riesman . . .
In late 1939-early 1940, Vilnius (Vilna in Polish) was occupied by the Red Army until end October 1939 and then became part of Lithuania. It was never occupied by Germany.
I can't find any airman by the name of Riesman (or something close) or the first name of Donald (rather unusual for a WWII German?) lost duirng the Poland campaign, where Luftwaffe might have flown recon in the area. |
