V1 Transport dollies.

Hi, first of all thank you for allowing me to join this fabulous forum, which will allow me to broaden my knowledge.
I'm a keen modeller of all things Luftwaffe and I'm at present building a V1 which comes with a transport dolly such as the ones shown here,

Does anyone know what these were made out of? My first thoughts were steel but I'm now thinking that timber may have been a possibility. I'd like to know as it will help when I come to weather the model. Obviously if timber was used it would be wrong to add any rusting!
Regards,
Tim.

Hi,
My money is on steel. The beast weighs a metric ton (more than 2.000 lbs). Please see attachments.

Hi SES, thanks for the reply and posting those photos. They clearly show that they, those shown anyway, were made from steel, angle sections. Interesting to see that they were spring buffeted as well.
Regards.
Tim.

it is steel construction was named "Zubringerwagen" It was the cart that brought the rocket to the launch ramp. The normal transport cart can you see in the second picture was also made of metal
