A rheostat which was used to adjust temperature of a heated flight outfit (overalls).

Hello Gilles,

I don’t know the definition of, "Heizbekleidungsschalter," and probably a prime example of the obvious, but your artifact appears to be a cover plate for some sort of a 2 volt Siemens ON-OFF switch box. Not much help, but all I can offer.

Good evening Sheflin !

this looks like a cover-plate of an electrically heating-suit for flying crews. The suit can be connected to the a/c's 24 Volt system and this Heizbekeidungsschalter (heating-suit-switch) is dimable. This plate seems to be attached directly to the clothes.

best wishes !

Regulierwiederstand fur heizbekleidung. Its variable resistor, as said by Horst.
I can add Fl32403-1 fur 24V , 77wd 6b would have been combined with fl32604 ( a connector) which connected to fl32650 (bracket) which would have been held to the side of the airplane.

thanks to everybody (with a special mention to Snautzer for its continual support..) .

So, it was for the heating of the flying suits of the crew , if I understood well?
