Oblt. Hans-Joachim Heinecke; Stab I./JG 53
Gentlemen,
1/ LiFocus N°3 did publish (Photo 6, page 8) a Stab I./JG 53 TO machine, taken at Bjelaja-Zerkow in August 1941, displaying 15 victories, explaining us that it was Oblt. H.J. Heinecke’s machine and telling us that this pilot got 13 victories between 24 June and 31 of July. Except the 13th and following 14th and 15th when he was 1./JG 53 Staka at the beginning of August… No trace of previous victories in JFV 6.II. First question: What is his history before being TO in Stab I./JG 53 and when he has been put TO in this unit? 2/ Page 116 of JFV 6.II we can find a belly landed TO machine, taken in “summer 1941”, which is the same machine we can find, too, in LiFocus N°16 (Photo 5, page 8). No one scoreboard on this machine. For me “summer 1941” means, for this unit, from 22/6 to 7/8/1941 … Second question: Who, was TO - if any! - JUST BEFORE and/or JUST AFTER Heinecke?? 3/ And last (just for the fun). It happens that on the picture found in LiFocus N°16 we can see the cowling and we can note that the camouflage separation line on cowling between top and under surfaces is situated very high over exhaust which is a characteristic, as far I know, of … JG 51 machines, not JG 53. (Told you it was funny). Am I wrong? Regards, Franck. |
