Identity of Me 109E-4 Red 2

Hi,

Found this picture on IWM website and was wondering if anyone can identify which pilot flew this aircraft? The caption reads; Civilian staff investigate the fuselage of a Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4, 'Red 2 of 3.LG 2.
There is another close up photo of the fuselage which has some added writing "The only good Jerries are dead ones"? or words to that effect. Was wondering the fate of this particular pilot?

Regards,

Melvin

Does not have to be so much red parts to appear dark on an orthochromatic film
