Crashes in Holland - aug 15th 1944

We need information / images about the following aircraft of the 786 Sq and 787 Sq / 466th BG :S/N 41-29449 "True Love", S/N 42-52597 "Lady Lightning and "Rambling Wreck I"
These B-24's were shot down on August 15th 1944 in the northern provence of Drenthe in the Netherlands near Steenwijk.
Who was the pilot from II/JG5 of III/JG53 who shot these planes. He also crashed that day at Nijensleek near Steenwijk.
Who knows more about these planes? Who has pictures of the crew? Who can give us information?
Are there still crew-members alive?
Please contact via e-mail.

Hello Joop,

The German fighter pilot you refer to was Uffz R. Schierghofer and belonged to 6./JG5. His Bf.109G-6 was Werknr 441988.

Have already contact with members of the Dutch Studygroup Airwar 1939-1945 about this matter?

Kind regards,
Hans Nauta

Have a look in the books of Ab Jansen regarding Wespennest Leeuwarden. That date several crashes are described.
