eBay: A Meyer's (?) Bf 109. Le Touquet 1941.

Gentlemen,

I did extract these three photos from a photo album which is still in auction. Easy to find out...
The owner was posted in Le Touquet area and was part of coast alarm organisation in Kriegsmarine.

Here are the pics...
I didn't find nothing about that Meyer with 25 abschüsse as it is writing. I did try Meier and Mayer too. Nothing. At least in KRACKER list and since I haven't the right Prien's book ...

The plane seems to be a White 1 (if it's the same for the three pictures) and a Bf 109 F.
Looks like a JG 2 style and it seems there is a III. Gruppe Balken.

Any registered accident for Egon Mayer? :D
(Calendar coincidence! ;))

Regards, Franck.

Here is the link. I did correct 1st mail; Of course JG 2, not JG 26!! :o.
Last minute:
"Boss" said some pictures have been published in JG 2, Vol 2.
Hence Egon Mayer!

Re: eBay: A Meyer's (?) Bf 109. Le Touquet 1941.

Step by step ...

Because of the exhaust flame damper I thought it was a Bf 109 F-4.
The photo album contains, too, some writings like "St. Quent" (sic).

So most probably we have the WNr.6720 on these pictures which belly landed on 20/09/1941 at St. Quentin; Bruch 15%.
Lost list says Bf 109 F-4! but the WNr.6420 is in F-2 production batch.

Regards, Franck.

Re: eBay: A Meyer's (?) Bf 109. Le Touquet 1941.

Hi Guys,

since I did start this thread alone, I will continue like that .... But I want to complete and correct it since St. Quentin has no Beach at all!! And it was pretty far from JG 2 area ..
You see what I mean?
So we must consider that the 20/09/1941 loss did occur in Quend, that is Quend-Plage not in Quent/St. Quentin as it has been wrongly reported.

Regards, Franck.

The 'white 1' does look like Mayer's machine.
