Plt Off Peter Lloyd, 81 Sqn

The above was shot down by Flak near Nieuport on 29 Jul 42 in Spitfire BM227 of 81 Sqn and is now buried at Oostduinkerke. Does anyone have a better idea as to where his Spitfire crashed (it was on land) and who might have got him?

Hello ,

According to my info the plane crashed in de Kinderlaan , a street north of de Polderstraat in Oostduinkerke. As name of the pilot i have P/O Evans Peter B J/9433 RCAF.

Same as me so assume that it came down in the sea. I will take a look at the F540

Alain: F540 adds little apart from they were based at Fairlop not Ouston. Shackleton & Evans were from B Flt and here were another 2 from A Flt who landed back at 1630 hrs without incident
