Ju88 6/LG1 combat 27 March 1941

Hi guys

On 27 March 1941 a Ju88 of 6/LG1 flown by Uffz August Johannesmann was attacked by a 'twin-engined' fighter off Crete. The pilot was wounded and the Ju88 was flown back to Catania by the observer.

Any idea of the identity of the attacking aircraft?

Hi Brian,

according to my sources (Qu.M.6), the Ju was not attacked. Instead it had an engine failure and crushed in Cattania

FF.Uffz. August Johannesmann, Ju 88 A5 (L1+KP, W.Nr. 2317) 100% m. BO.
Uffz. Ernst Wedel, BF. Gfr. Fritz Wartewig, BS. Gfr. Ambros Rziha, Motorschaden, alle (+) 27.03.41 Catania
