Bruno Stolle
He died in 2004 at 89 after a full-fledged life (35 victories, Ritterkreuz, ending up as an Oberst in the Bundesluftwaffe in 1972).
He was a member of the best Jagdgruppen in the West, III./JG 2. How come no one has interviewed him or published his memories? |
Re: Bruno Stolle
From my contact with him, he was a very private man and his wife had persuaded him to sell all his documents & decorations

Re: Bruno Stolle
In around 2002-2003 I attented a ceremony where some trees were planted in Brisbane, Queensland, commemorating some locals who were killed in World War Two. As it turned out, one of them was a victim of either Stolle or his wingman, Georg Hippel.
