Hmmm, looks like another I'll be picking up at some time. They get a bit addictive these MMP books, imho, they are just so good, though I'm sure they have their share of errors/uncertainties too, such is the nature of research of subjects 70 years ago.

Well, Steve. A lot more photographic evidence has surfaced, especially since the advent of the internet.

Might I recommend:

Thanks Ed, I have the Prien Rodelke book, its been instrumental in raising my awareness a fair bit, I hadn't seen the Fernandez-Sommerau volume before so one to aquire too, along with the MMP volume. Hardly objective but I like the format of the MMP books & from what I can see the profiles are fairly well researched, unlike some other references I've heard of/ come across.

Re: Messerschmitt Bf 109 F

So I have the book, and I will say it is a decent little book. I would consider it like a good sized chapter of one the bigger books (eg Prien Rodeike).

Well packaged, some nice detailed photos in the back, in companion with manual excerpts and 3d drawings.

A bit of new stuff...particularly on wing guns planned for the F. The book suggests that wing guns were planned and much researched/developed (beyond Galand's one-off). doesnt go into why and wherefores though...very dissapointing on this point.
