Battle P2190 now confirmed as GB-X 10th May 1940 Damaged by enemy aircraft and subsequently abandoned during the fall of France. Flying Officer R N Wall ok, Sergeant Woodhouse ok, Corporal Greenwood ok. Battle P5238 WT- (but no evidence of codes). 19th May 1940 Attacked by enemy fighters and force landed at Nantes aerodrome and abandoned. Sergeant G H Ebert ok, Sergeant T Jones ok, Leading Aircraftsman R S Utteridge ok. Hurricane P2959 http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...urricane-P2959 According to Air Britain file this Hurricane P2959 was lost in June 1940 and was 501 Squadron based at Le Mans early June. Codes for this squadron were SD. Does not seem to have an ID letter. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Flugzeug.../221243578489? Spitfire ZP-M? or N - These are the only four Spitfire loses (missing and not home or sea losses). I can find with 74Sqn during 1941. Did not find that one on the squadron records. Has anyone seen an ebay photos of Spitfire P7537 of 74Sqn. It also supposedly belly landed in Northern France. Must be a photo somewhere. regards Mark |
