Seeking confirmation for Bf109D-1 a/c number of Lt. Gerhard Granz while with 1./ZG2 - 1./JGr102, circa late-summer-fall of 1939

With the profile part of the EoE Project, we've now completed 113 Bf109D, E and F, 5-views out of around a thousand that are planned. The a/c that I want to use to represent 1./ZG2 - 1./JGr102 during the latter part of 1939 is the D-1 flown by Lt. Gerhard Granz. We have an excellent photo of the front of the a/c showing his Staffel and Gruppe insignias, but it doesn't show the a/c number. However, "Luftwaffe Colours: Jagdwaffe," P.198, in a caption to this photo claims that this is "White 11." Are there any other independent sources for this information, ie photos? I've got three photos of "White 11" that I can use for profile references, but they have no obvious connection with Granz.

Can anybody help? Has anyone been in touch with Granz directly?

Hello Larry,

Did you ask Erik directly? He is normally well documented.
Doesn't mean it's 100% sure but I'm sure he had good reason to give this code.
Though ...
Looking your picture and the same he did publish (my scan is very bad) ... I'm thinking there is something strange ... around code number area.
