Greek general in air crash 10 April 1941

Hi guys

On 10 April 1941, a Greek general was briefed to fly to Sarajevo with documents that apparently supported a Greek/Yugoslav attack against the invading force.

He was aboard an RAF Blenheim that force-landed, and was injured.

Can anyone tell me his name and provide further details regarding the proposed plan?

Cheers
Brian

You may have already found this, but it has some background on what happened. It does not answer all your questions but is interesting.

Operational Diary - Royal Yugoslav Naval Command H.Q., April 1941

10 April 1941, 09.32 hours.

-One British a/c crash landed in field near Bar. Route Athens - Sarajevo. Aborted landing at Rajlovac (Sarajevo airfield) due to heavy fog. Three man crew (sic):one badly wounded, one high Greek officer slightly wounded, one uninjured. A/c 60% damaged.

3.Hydroplane Command informed to send a/c for transport of wounded airmen. Mostar and Sarajevo commands informed via radiogram no.242, code “Grad”.

Greek officer (general) from general Alexandre Papagos H.Q. was transported to Sarajevo by army vehicle. On 14 April he was aboard Royal Yugoslav Do-17K that landed in Greece.
His mission was to coordinate action of Yugoslav and Greek army against Italian troops in Albania. He was late because Zetska Division already launched attack against Italians on 6 April.
