Identify location-Siwte

I am trying to identify a crashsite location originally listed in the Gen.Qu.6 Abt. reports as follows: Ju 88 L1+ET, W.Nr. 3282, crashed as a result of technical failure on 24.2.41 at ?Siwte?, Führer Ltn. Werner Mühlbradt. At that time, III./L.G. 1 was operating out of Catania. I am certain that I have copied the location incorrectly, but do not have a complete copy of the loss list at hand. It would also be good to know the % damage if that is available. Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

ArtieBob

Sirte, Libya? It would square with ops out of Catania.

- ZZZZZ Blitzschreiben -
Can only be Sirte, one of the first airfields used by the Lw. in Feb/Mar 1941:

Sirte (LIB) (a.k.a. Surt) (31 13 N – 16 34 E)
General: landing ground in N Libya on the Gulf of Sirte (Gulf of Sidra) about halfway between Tripoli and Benghazi.
Operational Units: 2.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 14 (Mar 41).
Station Commands: Fl.H.Kdtr. E 20/VI (Dec 41 – Jan 42);
Station Units (on various dates – not complete): Stab/Fliegerführer Afrika (Feb – c.May 41); Koflug 18/XI (Dec 41 – Feb 42); elements of le.Flak-Abt. 841 (mot.) (Mar 41); Trsp.Kol. d.Lw. 5/XI (Jan 42); Sanitätsbereitschaft (mot) d.Lw. 3/XVII (trop) (Mar, Jun, Dec 41);

Other matter sent via PM (SIEDSCHLAG) being worked on. Expect answer in day or two.

Looks like at a certain point of this loss announcement handwritten notes were involved.
A hand-written Sütterlin letter "r" is similar to a hand-written Normalschrift "w"

In the same way that an Enigma machine could not encode a letter as itself, a handwritten Sütterlin letter looks like any letter except the one it actually is!
