Flanker,

It appears that Yugoslavia had 4 x B-24J crews as (the) Yugoslav detachment of 376th BG, USAAF.
Only one survived and likely this B-24 is on the picture? Must be post-war, as the wartime B-24s had USAAF markings with a Yugoslav AF logo only?

Read http://www.armyaircorps-376bg.com/yugo_crews.html for much more details.

Regads,

Re: An unknown B-24

Flanker,

Did some more googling and found that the Soviet Union had several B-24s in the inventory, thanks to US aircraft that had stranded in Russian held territory and were not returned.

See this thread were Sombor is (also) mentioned: http://www.ww2incolor.com/forum/show...sed-by-Germany

Regards,

Leendert
